The Terrible Triad of Fatigue, Stress, & Medications
Introduction
Courtesy of Avemco Insurance, this course is presented free of charge.
As pilots we must be as close to "the top of our game"as possible. But as humans, we suffer from fatigue and stress, and sometimes we need medications. We can be safer in everything we do if we understand and actively manage the individual members of the "Terrible Triad" of fatigue, stress, and medications. This online course will introduce the hazards and provide some information on how to mitigate some of the risks. Several recent accidents involving airplanes, helicopters, and gliders are discussed and analyzed to learn from the mistakes of others.
This Avemco sponsored course will require approximately one hour tocomplete. A quiz is presented at the end of the course. Successful completion of the quiz is required to receive Wings credit for the course. The course is valid for one Basic Knowledge-3 credit.
The course is presented by Bright Spot, Inc. The author/narrator is Gene Benson, CFII, FASTeam Lead Representative, and human factors industry consultant.
